Galangal is locally owned by the creators of Thai Room in Jacksonville Beach and Lemongrass in Jacksonville. Both restaurants have won numerous awards and are highly acclaimed. Their family was one of the first to bring Thai Cuisine to Jacksonville.

Galangal

Galangal (ga-lən-ˌgal) is a Thai spice that is related to ginger. The flavor is more citrusy, flowery, peppery and intense. Galangal, lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, curries, and chili are some of the many elements used to create this exotic Asian cuisine that America loves. Although some dishes are spicy hot, many are not. All are highly flavorful and wonderfully addictive.
